On October 29, 2025, the parallel forum "Towards a Sustainable Future: Applications of Mesoscience in Addressing Global Challenges", held as part of the 2025 World  Science and Technology Development Forum, successfully took place in Beijing. The forum brought together scientists and industry representatives from China, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, South Africa, and other countries to engage in in-depth discussions on the innovative applications of mesoscience in sustainable development, healthcare, artificial intelligence, finance, and other fields.

The keynote presentations elaborated on specific practical pathways of mesoscience in key areas such as education advancement, green process development and social science, while proposing methodological tools to foster interdisciplinary integration. The discussion session further focused on forward-looking explorations of mesoscience in cutting-edge fields, including sustainable development, immune systems, artificial intelligence, and finance. Participants unanimously agreed on the need to strengthen policy coordination and industry-academia-research collaboration mechanisms to accelerate the transformation of mesoscience theories and methodologies into decision-making tools for sustainable development.

The successful hosting of this event has established an efficient and practical platform for the global scientific community to deepen mesoscience research, promote international exchange and cooperation, and jointly address global challenges.
