The behaviour of complex systems are determined by phenomena that occur simultaneously through different effects, some interconnected, across wide spatial and temporal scales. Mesoscience is the art of recognising patterns of behaviours that may characterise these systems. This has been demonstrated in areas of chemical process engineering involving multiple components and states, but the opportunity lies in extending these principles to other wider applications in complex natural science and engineering systems. It is our goal to explore and understand these challenging boundaries that have so far eluded adequate solution and prediction.
